Database - JDBC
Well, I got this going, and in the process have finished resurrecting a three year old database and its accompanying Java programs. I installed the Java SDK through Synaptic (sun-j2sdk1.5). I downloaded the Connector/J 3.1 for MySQL and installed it next to the Java SDK installation. After that I had to set the CLASSPATH variable in the .bash_profile file as follows:
